Narelle Aspinall (Principal) R.A.D. and F.A.T.D.
For over two decades Narelle Aspinall has been serving the Rockhampton dancing community, and her teaching legacy has resulted in many successful careers in dance and music theatre. She began her own dancing career under the guidance of Miss Jacqueline Parker followed by Miss Jan Moore moving on to complete her final examinations under the watchful eye of the late Miss Valeria Hansen. After obtaining her teaching qualifications with the prestigious Royal Academy of Dance (London) and Federal Association of Teachers of Dance (Australia), in 1981 she founded the Capricorn School of Dancing. She is currently the regional coordinator for the F.A.T.D. and also has been honoured as an adjudicator in eisteddfods throughout Queensland. Narelle is a qualified teacher of the Royal Academy of Dance (London) and the Federal Association Teachers of Dance (Australia). Whilst specialising in Classical Ballet she also teaches Tap, Jazz and Kinder dance classes at the school. Today the growth and expansion of the school has resulted in the use of two studios situated on both the North and Southside of Rockhampton, which is run by both Narelle and her assistant teachers.

Natalie La Praik B. Ed (Early Childhood) Hons. R.A.D. and F.A.T.D.
Natalie La Praik has completed a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) graduating with First Class Honours at Macquarie University (Sydney). Whilst completing her tertiary studies Natalie completed the R.A.D. Teachers Certificate Program with Distinction. Natalie has also undertaken her Elementary (F.A.T.D.) Tap and Jazz Teachers examination where she received Honours with Distinction. Natalie assists with student’s examination and eisteddfod work throughout the year. She also conducts regular jazz and contemporary classes at the school.

Michele Catargiu A.R.A.D.
Michelle commenced her dance career under the guidance of Miss Jan Moore where she studied Ballet, Tap and Jazz. She completed her final R.A.D. exams with Miss Beverley Parker before being accepted into the Australian Folkloric Dance Company in 1994. In 1995 Michelle successfully auditioned for a dance position overseas with the International Dancetheater in Amsterdam where she danced for ten years. Michelle now resides in Rockhampton and specialises in classical and character dance at the school.

Karen Donovan A.R.A.D. Solo Seal
Born in Rockhampton, Queensland, Karen studied ballet with Valeria Hansen (CBE) from the age of 4 for twelve years achieving Honours for all her RAD exams and gaining the prestigious Solo Seal award. In 1976 Karen started two years of training at the Royal Ballet School in London winning the Bronze Medal in the Adeline Genee
competition that year. In her graduation performance the following year she danced one of the three lead roles (Gypsy Girl) in Sir Frederick Ashton’s The Two Pigeons after which she was accepted into Sadlers Wells Royal Ballet (now Birmingham Royal Ballet) under the direction of Sir Peter Wright in 1980. Karen worked her way up through the ranks of Corps de Ballet, Soloist and Senior Soloist and in 1987 was promoted to Principal Dancer performing a very varied repertoire both in London, the UK and across the world. Some of her many roles included Aurora (Sleeping Beauty); Odette/Odile (Swan Lake); Lise (La Fille Mal Gardee); Swanhilda (Coppelia); Sugar Plum Fairy (Nutcracker); the title roles in Giselle and Pineapple Poll and leading ballerina in Paquita and Theme & Variations. Other ballets include Concerto, Divertimento No. 15; Flowers of the Forest and Five Tangos. She also took part in several gala performances and took part in educational work for the ballet company in both demonstrations and pre-performance talks.

Kisane Ramm F.A.T.D.
Kisane's teaching careers has spanned over many years, and has seen her successfully own and operate her own dance school where she taught under the Federal Association of Teachers of Dance (Australia). Kisane specialises in F.A.T.D. examination work at the school, and also assists in the preparation of annual eisteddfods and performances held throughout the year.

Jay Cowie
Jay has completed Brent Streets’ fulltime Performing Arts course in Sydney. Jay teaches open tap classes at the school as well as doing freelance choreography. Jay’s an enthusiastic and passionate teacher who specialises in a more contemporary and modern style of tap.

Janelle Edwards
Janelle trained with the Jan Moore Academy of Dancing where she studied all facets of dance including Tap. Janelle conducts the Kinder tap classes at the school as well as assisting Narelle prepare students for their F.A.T.D. Tap examinations.
